Coach Bios

Adam Thomas (Head Coach) has been coaching Charlotte 49ers Cheerleading teams since 1997. He led the '98 - '99 All-Girl team to a third place finish at the Collegiate National Championships in just their first year of national competition. Also, he coached the 2001 - 2002 Small Coed team to the programs first National Championship in just their first year of competition.

Adam began his career with UNC Charlotte as a UNCC cheerleader in 1993. He spent four years as a varsity cheerleader, competed in four national championships, was recognized as a NCA All-American and Team MVP, he also placed in the top five at NCA's partner stunt nationals. In addition to his cheerleading days, Adam recognizes that his dedication to the cheerleading program originates from 7 years as UNC Charlotte student that earned him a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree. Adam has carried his commitment as a 49er into his coaching and expects another successful year for the Charlotte 49ers Cheerleading program.


Ashleigh Everhardt (Assistant Coach) has been at UNCC for almost ten years, 5 years as a Charlotte 49ers cheerleader and is completing her third season as assistant coach. In between cheering and coaching she was active with the team before moving into the assistant coach position. Having completed her undergraduate degree at UNCC in Biology, Ashleigh is now completing her degree of Master of Science in Biology and looks forward to continuing to be part of the program as it grows.
